Video import is a beta feature and is rolling out gradually. If you do not see it yet, it may not be enabled on your account.
If a flow is hard to crawl, for example because it is behind a login or relies on complex interactions, you can record it as a video and let BenchCanvas turn it into a flow. The AI extracts distinct screens from the recording and places them on the canvas.

What you need

  • A screen recording in WebM format
  • Maximum length of 90 seconds
  • Maximum size of 50 MB
Keep recordings short and deliberate. Move through the flow at a steady pace and pause briefly on each important screen so it is captured cleanly.

Import a recording in the app

1

Open the video import option

From the dashboard or canvas, choose to create a flow from a screen recording.
2

Upload your WebM file

Select a recording within the size and length limits.
3

Let BenchCanvas process it

The AI scans the recording, detects distinct screens, and builds a flow from them.
4

Refine on the canvas

Reorder, connect, and annotate the extracted screens like any other flow.

Record directly with the extension

The Chrome extension can record the active tab and hand the recording off to BenchCanvas, which is the easiest way to capture authenticated apps. You can create a new project from the recording or add it to an existing one.

Record authenticated flows

Capture pages behind a login using the Chrome extension.
