Sometimes a capture covers the main journey but you want more depth in a specific area, for example the settings or checkout section. Instead of starting over, you can expand an existing flow.

How to expand

1

Pick a starting screen

On the canvas, open the screen you want to grow from.
2

Choose expand

Use the expand option to start a new capture from that screen’s URL.
3

Set the depth

Choose how far to explore, similar to flow size on a normal capture.
4

Run it

BenchCanvas captures additional pages and adds them to your existing flow, connected to the screens they navigate from.

What stays in place

When you expand a flow, the screens already on your canvas keep their positions. New screens are added and connected without rearranging your existing layout.
Expand is the best way to add detail to one branch without bloating the whole capture. Capture broadly first, then expand the areas that matter for your analysis.

Capture options

Depth and navigation settings also apply when expanding.

Add screens manually

Add a single page or your own screenshots instead.
