A screen is a single node on the canvas. It represents one page or state of the product and carries a screenshot plus metadata.

What a screen contains

  • Screenshot: the captured image, in your chosen variant.
  • Title: an editable name for the screen.
  • URL: the page the screen came from (for captured screens).
  • Page type: an auto-detected label such as homepage, pricing, signup, onboarding, or checkout.

Page types

BenchCanvas automatically tags each captured screen with a page type. Tags help you scan a flow quickly and power chat commands like grouping by type. Auto-tagging keeps improving, and you can change a screen’s type from its properties panel if a label is off.
