# Sticky notes

> Drop free-floating notes anywhere on the canvas for ideas, reminders, and heads-ups.

Sticky notes are free-floating annotations you can place anywhere on the canvas. Unlike [comments](/collaborate/comments), they are not pinned to a single screen, so they are perfect for ideas, reminders, section headers, or a heads-up for a teammate.

## Add a sticky note

    Select the sticky note tool from the [toolbar](/canvas/tools).

  <Step title="Place it">
    Drop the note anywhere on the canvas, or inside a [frame](/canvas/flows-and-frames) to attach it to that flow.

  <Step title="Write">
    Add your text. Drag the note to reposition it any time.
  </Step>

## Notes feed the AI

Like comments, sticky notes are read by [Flow chat](/ai/flow-chat) as context. The assistant can take your notes into account when answering questions or summarizing a flow.

<Tip>
  Use sticky notes to label sections of a large canvas, for example marking which frame is which competitor, so the layout stays easy to read.
